How was your week? What’s going on in your life? What are you excited about?

Thanksgiving Week

Did you have a good Thanksgiving? I did. Ken’s brother and sister-in-law came down from Minnesota for the week. My mom and my brother and his family came over on Thanksgiving day. We all enjoyed a great feast of Turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, mushroom gravy, a variety of dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie for dessert.

I began the week by heading to our place in Lakeland on Sunday with my pup McFluff. My mom met us there and we went to dinner at Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grill Sunday night. I had the Crab Crusted Red Fish Royale. SO GOOD!

Then on Monday my mom and I met my cousin Cindy at a coffee shop in downtown Lakeland called Black and Brew. There we had lunch and chatted for over two hours! Of course we had McFluff with us too.

Monday night Ken came up to the Lakeland place after he got off work. Then on Tuesday my mom left to go see my niece and nephew. I did some Thanksgiving dinner prep and made these maple pecans from Cookie and Kate. Later that evening we went to Orlando to pick up Ken’s brother and sister-in-law from the airport. We took them to the beach on Wednesday – Fort Desoto Beach, then to Crabby Bills in Indian Rocks Beach. While at Crabby Bills we walked across the street to watch the Sunset.

On Black Friday we didn’t go shopping. Instead we went to Bok Tower in Lake Wales and then to downtown Lakeland for dinner and a look at the Christmas lights around Lake Mirror.

Saturday morning we took Ken’s brother and sister-in-law to the airport because they were flying home to North Dakota. They talked about coming back to Florida in February because Florida is like 100 degrees warmer than North Dakota some days in February. I’m serious. If it’s 80 in Florida and it’s -20 in North Dakota, it’s 100 degrees warmer in Florida.

On the way back from the airport we stopped at Spring Hammock Preserve in Winter Springs so we could do a little hiking with the pup.

Finally we made our way home but we did make a pit stop at a place called Yellow Dog Eats in Gotha, FL for lunch. I got the Spicy Green Giant Wrap and Ken got one of the Pulled Pork Sandwiches. Both were good but a note of caution: the wrap is VERY spicy.

And then we went home to our Lakeland place, drove back to Stuart on Sunday and then it was back to work on Monday.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Are you ready for Christmas now?
