Grow Your Blog Networking Party #2

Good morning and welcome to the Grow Your Blog Networking Party.

GYB

How has your week been? Mine has been BUSY! And next week will be crazy as well. I will be heading to Atlanta on Monday for training for work. I will be there through Thursday. Another thing that has kept me busy is school. Luckily, I will be taking finals this evening and then I will be done until the Fall semester begins on August 26th!

Grow Your Blog

I’ve teamed up with Deb from Cooking on the Front Burner, Tanya from Lemons for Lulu and Paula from Call Me PMc to host this networking opportunity each week. Every week, we’ll also have four co-hosts join us. Interested in co-hosting? Just email us at growyourblog(at)gmail(dot)com and we will get you scheduled!

What is the Grow Your Blog Networking Party all about? NETWORKING. Meeting new bloggers, finding new content to follow, building your readership. Why is blog networking great for you? Simply put, it increases readership and traffic to your blog. How do you network? Visit. Comment. Invite. Communicate. These are key to growing your blog.

Do you have tips for networking? Leave a comment below! We may feature your idea at a future party!

Let’s meet the hosts and co-hosts of the party!

Each week we will be including a link up to a social media outlet of our choosing. This week we chose Facebook. So after linking up your blog, be sure to scroll down and link up your Facebook Page.

Ah, Facebook. If you’ve had a Facebook page for any length of time, you’ve come to know that Facebook changes the rules of the game quiet frequently. What was great one year ago, may not be the best way to post and promote your Facebook page today. It’s a moving target, but I’ll share some tips that I’ve learned recently.

  1. Comment on other pages from your page. That means more exposure for you. Don’t be concerned with everyone ‘liking’ you back, just the fact that you like and comment means more exposure for you and eventually growth for your page.

  2. Make it Personal – Share personal snippets about your day, ask questions, interact. Post pictures from Instagram to your page.

  3. Connect Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter to your Facebook page.

  4. Host a Giveaway. Rafflecoptor offers an easy set up to promote the giveaway right on your Facebook page.

  5. When you share someone’s post, tag them in the status. For example

  6. ‘I love these Vegan Apple Berry Bran Muffins from @This Gal Cooks, find the recipe here http://www.thisgalcooks.com/2013/07/23/vegan-apple-berry-bran-muffins/’

  7. Everyone loves pictures, share images. Images are ‘liked’ and ‘shared’ more than other status updates by followers.

  8. Did you know you can schedule a post in Facebook? Once you add an image and status, click the clock in the bottom left of the status box. It will prompt you for year, month, day, time. Easy Peasy!

  9. Facebook parties are great for exposure. When a page holds a ‘Party’, you post your image and link and the host page much like a link party on blogs. The host page then shares it and Boom! more followers! This is especially beneficial when the page is larger than you.

  10. Post at different times and determine the best time to post for your audience.

Do you have any Facebook page tips? Please leave any tips or questions below, I’ll be happy to answer them.

  8. Thanks for hosting Julie and sharing these great tips. Thanks also for answering my question last week. It has been a hectic week and I have been ill at times but I will let you know if I have further questions on that issue. I wish you success in your final exams and training in Atlanta.

    • You’re welcome, Judy! I’m sorry to hear you’ve been ill this week. I hope you feel better soon.

Finals went well. Atlanta will be on Monday through Thursday. I’m hoping I can catch an early flight back on Thursday rather than taking my 8:55 flight back! That’s late!

No worries! Thank you for linking up and participating in the Networking party. Have you thought about creating a Facebook page for your blog? It’s a great way to reach out and share your content with new people!

      • Hi Julie! Yes, I have considered it, but for right now I’m stretched for time. I’d hate to create one more thing that I might not be able to give my full attention…. One of these days, it’ll all come together though! Fingers Crossed!! LOL
